Dr. T. Yaqoob has
published papers on various topics
including observational and theoretical work on physical processes
in black-hole accretion disk systems and their environment
(mostly active galactic nuclei AGN
and quasars but including X-ray binary systems);
blazars (including TeV observations);
X-ray and UV absorption and photoionized outflows and inflows in
AGN and quasars; high spectral-resolution X-ray spectroscopy;
power spectra, spectral and temporal variability; normal and
starburst galaxies; AGN unification;
low-luminosity AGN; X-ray background; coordinated multi-wavelength
and multi-mission monitoring campaigns of AGN; a high-redshift cluster
of galaxies;
absorption in the warm/hot intergalactic medium (WHIGM);
statistics; analysis methods; numerical and Monte Carlo modeling.
Dr. Yaqoob has incorporated
and documented several such
models into spectral fitting packages such as
XSPEC.
In particular, Dr. Yaqoob has been involved with state-of-the-art
development of models for fitting X-ray data in order to elucidate the
physics in the close vicinity of black holes and strong gravity, and
to understand the intercation of X-rays with obscuring matter
that often surronds the putative supermassive black holes in the
central engines of active galaxies.
